KAC

Introduction

Kakande & Company (KAC) was incorporated on 16 August 2006 as an accounting services company. The firm started as a sole proprietorship by Mr. Adam Kakande. KAC became a partnership firm in July 2013 when Mwesigwa Moses Kamanyire joined the firm as a Partner. The firm is located on Plot 2D, Nakasero Hill Road in the Kampala Central Business District where it has stayed since inception.

Professional accreditation

*KAC is licensed and regulated by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) since 2008.

*KAC is approved by Uganda Revenue Authority to act as a tax agent

Practical experience

Moses and Adam have over twenty five (25) years’ practical experience;

*Internal Auditors of Civil Society Organizations in Western and Eastern Uganda as sub recipients of Global Fund disbursements (Round 7)

*Internal Auditors - Implementation of Global Fund Round 10 Malaria and Health System Strengthening

*Since 2011, the Office of Auditor General has continued to approve Kakande & Company among firms authorized to conduct external audits on behalf of the Office of Auditor General.

*Since December 2012, the Central Bank of Uganda has continued to approve Kakande & Company among firms authorized to conduct audits of Commercial Banks, Credit Institutions, Microfinance Deposit-taking, Forex Bureaus and Money Remitters.

*In 2013, the Registrar of Cooperatives approved Kakande & Company among firms authorized to conduct audits for Savings and Credit Societies.

*On 21 Mar 2013 Stanbic Bank Uganda Limited one of Uganda’s leading financial institution prequalified Kakande & Company as a Bank Service Provider auditing services.

*For more than five years, the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda has continued to approve Kakande & Company among firms authorized to conduct audits of insurance players
